(More customer reviews)I've owned this hot plate for a little over two months now and have pretty much used it daily to make a single serving of black refried beans. It boils the little-over half-a-cup of water in a little under seven minutes and the beans turn out great. One caution is that, except for the legs, the whole device tends to get hot when using it - not just the burner. Overall I consider this a good hot plate and highly recommend it.
