(More customer reviews)There is a reason this style of protector has been around for ages. This is an easy, inexpensive way to protect cast iron when using an electric stove or hot plate. It does not allow the pan to come into contact with the heating element so the seasoning is not ruined. Also works for Pyrex coffee pots and any other types of pot or pan that should not be in direct contact with the heating element. I prefer this over the newer diffusers that seem to limit the heat from the burner to pan. This allows the cooking vessel to heat well while still being protected from direct contact.
