(More customer reviews)I guess you get what you pay for...but I just wanted the ambience of a "flame" in my living room. The heat is a bonus. I was replacing a previous electric fireplace. The flame "effect" has already stopped working, and I've only had it for about a month or so. If I "bang" on the back of it, the flame tries to work, but makes a grinding noise and quits again. My advice is to spend more money and get something a bit better than this.
