Don't mess with tradition...this is the same crab pot I grew up with! Simple, and practical...we use it outside on the side burner of the grill to get a good rolling boil for steam that you don't get with the new electric stove tops. The PERFECT steamer for blue crabs in the Chesapeake Bay tradition! Hint: add 2 cups of water, 2 cups of vinegar & 2 beers to the base, and bring to a boil...load live crabs in top, layering with "Old Bay" and steam til they turn red (10 min?). ENJOY them while they are HOT!

Sure to be a treasured piece when gathering with friends and family, this three-piece steamer set supplies a lower pot that contains water for boiling, a steamer pot for steaming food, and a lid. Measuring 16-1/5 by 8-3/4 by 14-1/4 inches, the extra-large steamer provides a wide base for stability and a generous 19-quart capacity. Use it for cooking up clams, corn on the cob, crabs, crawfish, lobster, and other favorites over a campfire at the beach or at home on a standard electric or gas stove for festive cooking any time of year.
In addition to its heavy-duty carbon-steel construction for fast, even heating, the pot features a PFOA-free, non-porous, porcelain-enamel coating that resists staining and that won't burn, won't trap odors or food particles, and won't react with foods, which means authentic, unaltered flavors and delicious results. The cookware provides side loop handles on both the base and the upper steamer body, while its secure-fitting lid with a loop handle helps trap heat, moisture, and nutrients. Made in the USA, the cookware cleans up easily by hand with hot soapy water.

Graniteware 11.5 Quart Seafood Pot with Steamer amd Drainer Insert Review

When I received this the packaging it came in was perfect, not a scratch or dent on it, but the pot on the other hand....the pot, the steamer, and the lid were all bent. Bent badly enough in different places that the lid wouldn't lay flat without attempting to bend it back by hand...which didn't work. Its scratched so badly that the coating is flaking off. I'm returning asap. If I get a replacement in good condition then I'll change my review otherwise I stand at 1 star for this poorly made and received product. Shame on you Amazon! (Again I repeat: It was NOT the fault of UPS who delivered it, the box was in perfect shape.)
Update on the product its self: Works fine. Deep enough. Love that the basket just lifts and drains away. I used it to make tamales and it held quite a few of them. Still pretty pissed about the condition it was received in. Bent lid on a steamer means the steam doesn't stay in.

11 1/2quarts in size so it's perfect for all your steaming needs. The handy steamer / drainer insert works well for removing contents without burning oneself. Porcelain enamel is the result of fusing powdered glass to a substrate by firing, usually between 750 and 850 degrees Celsius. The powder melts and flows and hardens to a durable vitreous coating on a carbon steel core. It creates a smooth, hard finish that won't burn and resists staining. It's also non -porous so it won't trap odors or food particles and provides a low coefficient of friction – meaning that it cleans up easily and, it is corrosion and chemically resistant so it will last a long time. When fired, the vessel is placed on pins so the bottom and sides are hardened during the firing process into one smooth laminated glass surface. You may notice slight pin indentations where the glass has flowed around the pin that supports the base during firing. The pin marks do not compromise the finish or performance of the vessel in any way but you should take additional care in handling if using on glass top stove.
