Iwatani Torch Burner Professional #Cb-tc-pro Review

I've only been using it for a few days now, so if it falls apart in the next few months, I'll amend my review.
I primarily use this for Sous Vide cooking, which requires most meats to be seared when they are done cooking. When you are making 5-10 steaks at a time, and want to serve all of your guest at once, a reliable torch that works fast is a must.
I had been using a propane torch ($12 at Lowe's) and finally got tired of the flame-outs and uneven burn. Let me say, this torch is awesome. It puts of way more heat than the propane torch, does not flame out no matter how fast you move it or what angle you hold it at. I bought the GasOne 12-pack of butane cans (about $2 per can with shipping included), and a dinner of 5 steaks seemed to use about 10-15 percent of a fuel can.
Its very hot, and has a nice wide flame, resulting in fewer passes when torching a steak.
Pros:
-Cheap Fuel
-Steady, Hot, Wide flame
-Adjustable flame intensity
-Big. It sits well in the hand with a fuel can attached
-Trigger for lighting the flame. No lighter or sparker required
-Trigger does not control fuel flow. I thought this would be bad at first, but it would actually be a pain to have to hold the trigger down for extended use
Cons:
- It didn't come with a Ferrari.

Windmill Classic Stormproof Lighter Review

Windmill Classic Stormproof Lighter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've used Windmill Stormproof lighters for over 10 years. When they are working, there is no lighter I've ever had that works better. They are light, compact, easy to fill in the clear models and throw a very hot and directed flame. They are windproof enough that I've lit cigarettes on a motorcycle.H
However, and this is a biggie, they are very poorly designed for reliability. The hinges will break. The lever that opens the top will break. And sometimes they just won't light. This didn't used to be a big deal. You could just send it off to the distributor and they sent you a new one. Now they want to charge you $7.50 for each return and you get to pay the postage to ship it to them. Not much of a "Lifetime Warranty" since that almost certainly covers their cost. Bye-bye Windmill.

Windmill Delta Stormproof Lighter Review

Windmill Delta Stormproof Lighter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Three years ago I bought this lighter, and recently, the fire coil broke off, so I ordered another one. Then I realized the original was guaranteed for life, so I called Essential Gear, got a return number, and sent my broken lighter to them, even though I hadn't bought the original from them, a fact I told them. The new lighter arrived and worked great, and two weeks later, my old lighter arrived, fixed and at no cost. I use this lighter on the golf course in high winds, and never have a problem. With a lifetime guarantee, it just can't be beat, and I can't say enough about Essential Gear's great service.

Bernzomatic 19425 JT850 Self-Igniting 20,000 BTU Outdoor Torch Review

Bernzomatic 19425 JT850 Self-Igniting 20,000 BTU Outdoor Torch
Average Reviews:

Overall this product has met my expectations. It is well constructed and ergonomically sound. It works quite well at destroying small emerging weeds on bare ground, gravel and in between bricks. For larger weeds I find pulling is still a better option than the torch. The product is less effective when used in or around flammable ground cover or tender vegetation because of the resulting collateral damage.
If you are comparing the torch against the ease and effectiveness of chemical weeding products (Ortho Weed be Gone, etc.) you will be disappointed in this product's relative performance. If you are comparing this product to other "organic" weeding methods (pulling, high concentration vinegar, etc) you will be satisfied with the relative performance.
