SEI Tennyson Electric Fireplace with Bookcases Review

I ordered this online because it was the size I wanted in a fireplace with bookshelves. Once I received it, I had to put it together and noticed it was 100% Made in China. One of the boards split in the bookend when I tightened the cam lock fastener onto the cam bolt. So I had to use some wood glue and a c-clamp overnight to repair that. And a few more cam-locks just bent open after I tightened them - and I was not tightening them too hard. Luckily extra hardware pieces were included and I had to use all of them. Very cheap hardware! Secondly, once the firebox unit was installed, it looked very nice, but made a semi-quiet vibrating noise as the flames flickered. I like it SILENT when I sleep, and the noise irritated me. I opened the firebox to find that somehow the DC motor that rotates the reflector rod makes a vibrating noise against the thin metal it's attached to. I tried to oil the rod in a few spots but that didn't help. It's still noisy. Third, the boards were not all perfect fits. Some boards did not fit together at 90 degrees where they were supposed to. I was still able to forcefully assemble everything but one or two boards were slightly warped or just didn't fit perfect. Last, one of the back panels had water spots on it. --Obvious in the light, but not noticeable in a shadow. Some poor quality control there. Oh - also the heater fan and thermostat switch are kinda loud. The heater blower, well, sounds like a fan of course and when the thermostat clicks on and off, it sounds like a loud light switch clicking.
Now, the color of the wood was nice and the flames and glowing log looked nice. But the construction, wood, and hardware quality is not worth the HIGH PRICE in my opinion.

Contrary to the elitest pump-heads, you do not need a $500 pump driven espresso maker to make terrific espresoo -- heck -- they've been making espresso for hundreds of years -- long before delonge came out with their Espresso-master 2000.
I've had this stove top model for 3 years now ... the espresso it brews is hot, smooth, and intense, but never bitter.
Similarly, you can froth milk over a low heat with a whisk and a saucepan it comes out frothier richer than a steam valve could ever produce.
The total set up is about 30 bucks. Take the $400 in savings, buy a bunch of books to enjoy with your espresso drinks.

Bodum Chambord Aluminum Stovetop Espresso Maker Review

Bodum Chambord Aluminum Stovetop Espresso Maker
Average Reviews:

The first problem with this item was the overbearing odor of machine oil that filled my nostrils when I opened it for the first time. The instruction book, of course, mentioned the pot should be cleaned thoroughly before the first use, but that presented a problem when the book cautioned that the machine should be cleaned with water only. I was not convinced that water alone could do it. Sure enough, numerous washings later, the aluminum Espresso pot still had the vague if not overpowering odor of machine oil about it.
We decided to give it a shot. I had invited over a couple of Espresso aficionados to help me judge the first batch. I will say that the pot made a quick, full six servings of Espresso, but the pot unfortunately still smelled like machine oil after we finished making the first brew. One of us was brave enough to taste it, and reported that the Espresso was not bad at all. The coffee -- if not the pot -- was free of any oily taste or smell, and the second taster reported that he liked it very much.
I would have given this at least four stars for the price, simplicity and overall result, except that darn oil odor ruined our appetite for what we were hoping was a quick desert beverage. I am hoping that a few uses of this very economical alternative to an expensive Espresso machine will rid the pot of the oily odor.
UPDATE: TWO MONTHS LATER - The pot has lost the odor that was so off-putting when it first came out of the box. The coffee -- I mean, espresso -- is great. I use it for company all the time and everybody loves the brew. Definitely worth the money if you're seeking a bargain-priced espresso maker!

The Bodum Chambord Stovetop Espresso Maker lets coffee lovers prepare and serve shots of their favorite brew at home. This stylish unit brews quality, delicious, authentic espresso in practically no time at all - at a tiny fraction of the price of an expensive espresso machine, 3-cup, 0.35-litre. How do I use it?. Pour water in the bottom container up to the MAX mark. Insert the funnel-shaped metal filter. Add fine ground coffee to the filter. Tighten the upper part (which has a second metal filter and a silicone gasket at the bottom) onto the water container. Place the espresso maker on a heat source making sure that the handle is not directly over heat. When the water boils, the steam will reach a high enough pressure to gradually force its way through the ground coffee, and pass through to the upper chamber. As soon as all of the espresso has reached the upper chamber, you will hear a sputtering sound - the sign that the coffee is ready to serve. Pour the coffee directly from the upper chamber and enjoy a perfect cup of espresso. What kind of ground coffee do I need? Fine: Smoother to the touch, a little finer than granular sugar or table salt. How do I clean this product? Wash the stainless steel espresso maker soon after letting it cool down to minimize staining. Cleaning in the sink will suffice too. Do not put the aluminum espresso makers in the dishwasher as discoloration may occur. Note: Do not screw the espresso maker together while it is still wet. Store the parts separately. Tip: Use a microfiber cloth to wipe the outside dry. This will help to maintain the mirror finish.

Primula Stovetop Espresso Coffee Makers Review

Primula Stovetop Espresso Coffee Makers

Like the other stove top espresso makers, including the now discontinued Walmart brand that cost half as much, it does nice work brilliantly. Various reviewers of these devices obviously don't understand how to operate them. Read the six line instructions.
The stench on the gasket is so nasty, it stinks up the house. I tried soaking in vinegar for 24 hours, isopropyl alcohol for 24 hours, lighter fluid for 6 hours. It is no longer as bad as it was. This stinky gasket must be redesigned. There is no excuse for it.
epilog: Bialetti 06951 replacement gasket is clean and sweet.
