this cast iron tea press is not as heavy as expected. i love the look and i love the heat retention. just follow the instructions on the amount of water to put in the pot so it won't dribble when you pour. brews my white tea to perfection! remember to keep it dry when not in use. this cast iron tea press will last a life time -- waaay better than the glass bodum tea press.

The BODUM Assam cast iron tea press is both a functional and artful item for the tea table. The cast iron tea press combines the old Japanese tradition of enjoying tea in a tetsubin style teapot with BODUM's proven tea press system. The Assam shape is reminiscent of the traditional English tea pots, whereas the cast iron material and its texture create the relaxing feeling of participating in a Japanese tea ceremony, a purifying bath of the six senses.Cast iron was used not only to convey the Asian style, but because of its brilliant qualities to preserve heat and therefore the consistent quality of the tea within. To create the distinctive Assam bowl shape, two iron cast parts are fused together. The knob pattern (Arare) surrounding the exterior of the pot contains the same amount of knobs in the first and last row. The inside is lined with a smooth, durable vitreous coating of enamel to prevent the iron from deterioration. If properly cared for, the cast iron teapot will last more than a lifetime. The Assam cast iron tea press should be hand washed and never placed directly on the stove or open heat source.Brewing loose-leaf tea is easy with the Assam.Simple add your favorite black, green, herbal, or white tea to the infuser.Pour hot water over the tea, filling the pot.Allow the tea to brew to your liking and then press. The patented press system separates the tea leaves from the water, completely stopping the brewing process and eliminating bitter tea. This means that you can enjoy your tea over time while resting assured that your first cup and third cup will taste the same. The Assam 4 Cup Tea Press serves 8 4 oz cups.

Glass Tea Pot Gift Set - Tempered Glass w/Infuser and Cups in Elegant Box Review

Glass Tea Pot Gift Set - Tempered Glass w/Infuser and Cups in Elegant Box

The glasses appear durable, but I won't put them in the dishwasher. You should wash them right after use and not leave in the sink with other dishes as they may crack and the slightest crack renders then useless. I have some other glasses and tea pots, and this one seems a little lower quality that the ones made by Purilina. But the set is nice when you have a guest over for tea.

Primula 12 oz Glass Tea Maker with Infuser Review

Primula 12 oz Glass Tea Maker with Infuser
Average Reviews:

...it is a 12 ounce 3-piece set: Lid, infuser, cup.
Out of the box, my first impression was looks and feels fragile, but so do most laboratory grade glass. I like the fact that it is made of this borosilicate glass. Resistant to thermal shock, hard to stain, and microwave friendly. The glass is thin, so more fragile than most glassware I have at home. Handle with care, and keep away from children. The glass can handle the high pressure spray of a dishwasher, but might not survive clashing against neighboring dishes if unsecured to a tray.
The infuser has 12 tiny slits at the bottom that act as filters when the infuser is lifted above the cup. Takes about 3 seconds. Safety tip, lift/lower the infuser slowly. Overflow may happen because not enough time is given for water to go through the slits when lifted/lowered in a hurry. After removing the infuser from the cup, it was easy to clean out the Jasmine tea leaves I used. I found a tiny piece stuck in one of the slits but a simple faucet rinse usually cleans it out. If not, I use the bristles of my toothbrush and press through the slits to clear out any debris.
To sum it up, I could not be happier with this product. My only downside is it makes me want all my glassware to be borosilicate glass.

This glass tea mug turns the act of brewing tea into an artistic presentation. Loose tea leaves are placed into the glass infuser, hot water is added, and when the water reaches the desired color or strength, the infuser is lifted out along with all the loose leaves. The lid is turned upside down on the table to act like a coaster. The tea infuser is placed on the coaster to no tea drips onto your table. With its wide loop handle, the mug can be picked up and carried without fingers touching the hot glass. Tea flowers look beautiful in the mug, too, and work best without the infuser. Made of lightweight yet laboratory-strength borosilicate glass that won't stain, the mug may be used on the stovetop or in the microwave, and both the mug and infuser are dishwasher-safe.For the tea drinker, Primula also sells a glass teapot and packets of tea flowers, which are AA-grade green tea leaves and actual dried flowers that are hand-sewn into tight balls by artisans in China. After a tea flower ball is place in hot water, it will slowly sink to the bottom and unfurl into full "bloom." Some even have two different kinds of flowers that unfurl into a colorful spectacle and add flavor to the tea.

tea pot Review

tea pot
Average Reviews:

I just used my new tea pot this morning and am satisfied with the purchase. Reasons: It seems to be well made; it has a nice design, and is practical for my use. I get up about 4 am and the tea pot with the beautiful color of the liquid looks great on the solid glass tea warmer glowing in the dark! (I purchased the Northwest Glass heavy glass warmer). The included glass infuser allows me to see the tea leaves and the slats (great concept instead of holes that allow tea leaves through - UPDATE BELOW) that allow brewing are located around the lower sides. That means that after brewing and using a full pot, I can add a small amount of additional water and have more tea. This is something important to consider when purchasing a tea pot....if the infuser does not sit low enough in the pot, you must use a lot of water before the tea can steep. This pot is good for about 20 ounces of tea. You can't fill it to the stated 24 ounce capacity or the liquid will spill from the spout (and I'm assuming by "3 cups" they mean 3 eight ounce cups). I purchased the tea warmer also which I reviewed under that item. There is just one thing that could have been better designed....when pouring the last drop you must keep your finger on the lid because it is not designed to stay on without holding it. But the pot is designed in a way where most of the liquid pours out easily, the beautifully curved spout does not drip, and you only have to hold the top for the last few drops.
UPDATE: Now that I have used this teapot daily, I have learned that gallons of water are probably being used to clean the glass infuser!!! The tea leaves get stuck in the glass slats. I have a sprayer on my sink and I end up getting water all over just trying to spray the inside and outside of the slats to loosen the tea leaves. If you don't like to spend a lot of time cleaning (and using a lot of water) then this will not work for you. The pot itself is really nice.

Primula Glass Stovetop Tea Pot with Infuser Review

Primula Glass Stovetop Tea Pot with Infuser
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
BE FOREWARNED: I bought this teapot for my wife as a little surprise gift little over three months ago as we're tea fans. I was impressed by the product descriptions of its 'laboratory-strength' thick glass; I had wanted to purchase a sturdy glass pot. And the fact that this was identified as dishwasher and microwave safe seemed additional testimony to its durability.
Please note: it's never been used in dishwasher OR microwave; it's been treated with great care simply because: that's how we are. And yet, just now: as the pot stood, filled on the counter: a roundish/tear-drop-shaped portion of the pot just popped OUT from the side. Untouched. It simply: broke. All by itself. A portion of the pot blew out, with attendant crack leading up to the top of the pot. And: she had made the tea about 1.5 hours previously; it wasn't even hot. But: of course, she and the counter were suddenly treated to a half-pot of tea.
VERY disappointed as well as extremely puzzled over how something like this could even happen. And it's clear there was no concussion from the outside: both the piece AND the pot show the glass blew OUTWARDS and that portion is fully intact.

This very esthetic tea pot is the nicest vessel I have ever used. Of course, I also love very fine and old porcelaine teapots, but seeing your tea in the pot, especially if you use loose tea leaves, is just an added visual pleasure. The color of the brew gives the beautifully rounded teapot its accent. Easy to take care of: just rinse with hot water and let dry. The spout might need some extra brushing at the tip to keep it shiny. Needless to say (I hope!) that glass deserves a delicate hand for handling, but so does all delicate china and other glassware!
May I suggest you go into your garden and find some fresh basil, peppermint, lavender, cilantro, or camomilla blossoms and brew them in your new glass teapot?! It will make for one very ayurvedic teasane drinking experience, good for body, mind and soul!

Pay heed to the one-star review. I was just rinsing the lid off with lukewarm water and it cracked and broke. The lid had sat and cooled to room temperature before I rinsed it. It was never dropped or mishandled in any way. Very strange. Grosche offers a replacement lid and infuser set but Amazon doesn't offer it for sale!!!! It really kinda sucks too because this is a great tea pot otherwise.
Sept 17 2010 UPDATE!!!!
When this originally happened I emailed the company and they said the infuser/lid replacements were out of stock and they would be available in a few weeks on Amazon (which they now are). However, last week I received an email from thier customer service saying that for being so patient they were going to send me a new infuser/lid at NO CHARGE!!! I got it in the mail today. Awesome!!! Awesome!!! Awesome!!! Thanks Grosche! This product is now FIVE STARS all the way!!!

So far, I am enjoying this stove top glass kettle. I drink herbal brews that taste bitter if made in metal pots. This works great if you want to brew 2-3 cups of 8 oz. tea, but if you are planning to host more than 2-3 people, I recommend getting a larger kettle.
The glass appears thin, but is very sturdy. I am not the most careful person when washing dishes, so the things I wash tend to bump into nearby obstacles, and the borosilicate glass has held up very well so far. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.

I received this yesterday and am quite pleased. We've made 3 pots of tea already!
I wanted something pretty, something that I can heat water in, and also make/serve tea in. This does it! It is very delicate looking, and look pretty sitting on my stove top when not in use. The only downside is that it is quite delicate (my kids will not be handling it much) and it can only be used on medium heat - making boiling water a bit longer than usual.

The clarity and beauty of a glass stovetop water kettle, with the convenience of an included infuser to make loose leaf tea! The Borosilicate glass is an ultra smooth surface that is durable and easy to clean, and will never go cloudy even after years of use. Since the VIENNA kettle and teapot does not have any plastic or metal parts, it will never impart a flavor to your water or tea, and will never rust or warp, and resists staining as well. Since this kettle has a large base for stovetop use, it cannot be used with the sahara teapot warmer. The VIENNA Stovetop kettle brings you another unique design tea kettle with its special Hexagon shape. The large and comfortable handle makes this an easy kettle and teapot to handle as well. The long infuser means you can make a half pot of tea at a time as well, no need to fill up the water all the way to the top to make your gourmet loose tea. 1200 ml is a perfect size to share tea with friends. When infusing high quality tea, don't you need a high quality and elegant infuser teapot like the VIENNA by GROSCHE?
