It's nice that its digital and it's true that it has a solid, heavy base - but it takes too much time to set. the timer includes hours, minutes, and seconds. There is no "enter" button, so you have to wait for each time increment to pass before setting the next one. Since I usually only use minutes and am sometimes in a hurry when setting the timer, this timer was just not convenient to use.

Chef's Quad-Timer Professional (Brushed Stainless) Review

(More customer reviews)I received this timer as a gift and have found it to be very useful. The timer is designed to keep track of up to 4 burners at once. I've never seen a feature like this on other timers and it's very helpful. The display is very easy to read and it's simple to operate.
Basically, the timer is designed to track up to 4 different items on your stove. The display will indicate which burners you are timing. In addition to using the timer this way, I have used it in other ways as well. For example, if I have 2 things in the oven for different lengths of time, I can set the timer to keep track of each of these seperately. The display will even alert you to which item will be the next to be done.
Additionally, there is a convenient 'batch' mode that allows you to push one button and the previous timed amount is displayed. This is very useful for baking cookies. For example, if you have a batch in for 10 minutes, when that batch is done, you only have to push one button and you are ready to put in another batch for 10 min.
The timer is solidly built but not too heavy. I carry it around the house with me when I am baking so I will hear when it goes off. The stainless steel version of the timer looks great in my kitchen.
I have used my timer for several months and have even ordered and given away several more of these as gifts to my friends who like to cook.

(More customer reviews)I have only owned this product for a week, however it appears to work nicely. The best part of this timer is its design. Everyone who has seen it loves it.
One note about functionality: To operate this timer, you have to pull the "tape" all the way out (60 mins) then you use an adjustment wheel on the bottom to retract it to the time you want. The unit will only work if operated this way. I did not find this to be a negative, but it is a bit more work than you would expect just from looking at it.

(More customer reviews)I bought this cute little egg timer to use for time-outs with my son. First thing I did was draw a black mark where "0" was because it's difficult to see it. I tried it out and it seemed to work alright. However, less than 24 hours after we got it, it was already broken. Something inside would rattle and you can't take it apart to see if you could fix it so, needless to say, it's just a piece of cute junk. I ended up buying a basic plain $5 kitchen timer that did the job this timer was supposed to do.

(More customer reviews)It is rather ridiculous, but I take this egg timer with me everywhere (ok, not to the bathroom). From LSAT timing to cooking pasta, the design of this timer is the best I have seen. You could say, timeless. It got scratched in my suitcase, so I am ordering a second soon just in case! It doesn't go above 100 minutes, but I wouldn't be using any sort of timer for past that anyway (maybe try an alarm instead). Great design overall, and the pearly white is precious as an "egg". Buy this one if you are thinking of buying any egg timer at all!

It took away the worry about getting the eggs hard-boiled correctly: not still-sticky soft nor overdone with the green ring (which doesn't hurt anything but looks suspect!) So now that my daughters are making their own deviled eggs to take to family dinners and potlucks, I went looking for this same timer online. The poor review by another owner prompted me to share my own experience. Keep the instruction card so you'll remember to start the eggs and timer together in warm water, not boil them but bring them just under a full boil, and then when the timer turns purple, cool them immediately in cold water. It's worked for me every time, and that's been many times!

CDN TR3 Digital Timer on a "Rope" Review

(More customer reviews)This timer is cute and lightweight (too light!) and mine did work, but it has TWO major design flaws which make it completely useless.
First of all, look at the picture. See that big circle under the LCD screen? That's the START/STOP button. It's HUGE and VERY sensitive, which means if you wear it around your neck, any time you lean over or bump anything the timer will start or stop! At times I accidentally brushed against it LIGHTLY with my arm and it stopped. How much can you trust a timer that starts and stops on its own?! What good is it?
Now, since it has a clip on the back, you could clip it onto your clothing, except for the SECOND design flaw. The clip is upside-down! If you clip it on yourself, the timer is right-side-up for the rest of the world, but when you try to look at it, it's upside-down. (Get my drift? Think of those clip-on watches...)
I'd also like to comment on the Amazon reviewer's claim that the timer is loud enough to be heard in a gym. It would have to be a mighty quiet gym....
All in all, you'd do better to shop elsewhere for your timer. In fact, after trying different ones, I would suggest buying it locally where you can really see what you're getting--and where you won't have to pay for return shipping.
