This is just a review of the stove itself, I didn't buy it here.
If you're looking for an induction stove, this is the probably the best looking and sleekest stove you can buy (in slide-in range configuration). I love the all black sleek look. The control panel only lights up when you first touch the panel to "wake" it up. The stove top and control panel is all black except for the clock which looks really sleek. It has a power boil feature which boils a quart of water in 90 seconds (I tested it). All of the other thoughtful touches like ball bearing smooth gliding oven racks, built in temperature probe (for cooking turkeys), and soft fading oven light (after you shut the door - I know big woop, but it looks cool), makes you wonder why no one else thought of these things. Most other stove oven's have the racks still grinding against the oven wall. The oven racks on the Electrolux (except for one rack) have the "luxury" glide racks which glide like nice cabinet drawers. Overall, I love this stove. I never thought I would be excited about a stove.
The only troubles I ran into with the stove was during installation.
There didn't seem like an easy way to get the stove off the wood crate. My kitchen is relatively small and there aren't very many places to grab the stove to lift it off the wood crate.
Most stores only sell 6' 50 amp range cords. If you buy this stove, I would recommend looking for a 4' 50 amp range cord because 6' (plus the size of the wires for 50 amps) is very stiff. I had some trouble getting the stove pushed up against the wall all the way no matter how much I tried to tie up with zip ties excess wire before pushing it back. Four feet 50 amp cords are a little harder to find so you may have to look around.
The back panel where the cord plugs in is flimsy. I'm guessing they don't expect you to open and close the back panel very often. The back panel door which covers the nuts to connect the cord is simply a piece of sheet metal you bend (yes BEND) backwards to expose the nuts. If you bend it back shut and then back open again, it's noticeably looser. One more bend back and forth and it breaks off. So why was I opening and closing it so many times, you ask? See the previous paragraph. I originally bought a 6' cord and had trouble getting the stove up against the wall. So I had to swap out the cord for a shorter one.If you're on the fence about induction technology, read below:
Originally I had an old GE electric coil range and I wanted switch over to gas because of all the advantages (instant heat, and instant on/off (plus my wife hated electric). I came across induction stove tops which I thought was intriguing.
Induction cooking:
Pros:
- Boils water (or heats anything) faster than any gas or reg electric stove.
- Smooth glass surface is easy to clean, especially since it doesn't get hot (only heat radiating back from cookware to stove).
- Probably safer with young kids since the surface doesn't get hot (less chance of fires and burns).
- Stove only heats cookware when cookware is placed on the stove.
- Induction is 70% more efficient than gas, and 20% more than reg electric (so they claim). I'm guessing that's because all the heat goes straight to the cookware and the only wasted heat is the heat radiating off the cookware not going to your food. Think of it as microwave for your cookware. Microwaves heat the food and not the cookware. Induction stoves, heats only the cookware. There's no heat wasted coming off the side of an open flame or electric coil.
Cons:
- Need magnetic pans. So if you have aluminum or copper bottom pot/pan, it won't work. Test your cookware by using a magnet on the bottom. If the magnet sticks, it will work.
- Glass surface might scratch if you drag cookware across it or drop something on it.
Do searches for induction stove on youtube.com for demo of induction stoves.

Average Reviews:

I purchased this hybrid so that I would be able to continue to use my regular cooking utensils and new utensils for the induction coils. I was very impressed with both sections of the cook top. After having gained experience with the induction section I would recommend that people have no fear of going to induction cooking only. I was very satisfied with the induction cooking and highly encourage anyone to replace their electric or gas cook tops with an induction unit.
On the down side, it is a little hard to keep clean. Using their cleaner in small sections at a time works best. When streaks' that remain are hard to remove, I found a damp sponge followed by a clean dry towel makes it easy to polish.

Beautiful range. Both oven and top grills are a joy to use as well as digital controls. The high power burner and low flame burner are both great.
There are some issues. S. Steel looks great clean but shows every spill and needs constant cleaning to restore it's looks. If your countertop juts out the stove may not slide as far back without some cutting of the countertop or additional alteration. Do NOT remove oven door. Directions for replacing it are very poor. It took us 35 minutes to replace and needed tools. The hinges need to be straight and only one person can hold the 25 lb. door and slide it in. Be warned. Also, the burner nobs turn the opposite direction of most stoves and you end up wondering why it won't turn off when you are actually turning the wrong way.
But, it still deserves 4 or 5 stars.

We purchased this range just over a year ago as a part of a major remodel of our home. We originally wanted the GE Cafe' series but were talked into this new Electrolux unit by our local appliance center as being "more reliable". This range has been a nightmare from the day it was installed. We have endured multiple repair calls for various major and minor issues:
1) The first time we used the lower oven (Thanksgiving Day 2008, the day after installation) the door locked shut and could not be opened - with rolls in the oven. We shut off the heat but could still not open the door for 10-15 more minutes until the rolls were ruined. The dealer attempted to repair this issue a few times, with instruction and new parts from Electrolux techs. One repair was a six hour marathon requiring insulation to be removed and elements replaced. The oven worked a few times without locking and then the problem recurred. Two more sets of parts including replacing the lower oven door with an identically designed unit still didn't fix the problem. Electrolux techs clearly were grasping for solutions and had no clue as to how to effect the repair.
2)The main oven would take 20-22 minutes to pre-heat, even on the "rapid pre-heat setting". Were told by techs that it is the way the range is designed because of the "hidden element." The replacement range pre-heats a little more quickly.
3)Two of the four gas burners would not ignite regularly. The igniters would click but not ignite. This was an intermittent problem. The tech said that we weren't hitting "just the right spot" on the dial when turning it on. Even if correct (which I dispute - we had no problem with the other two burners) what kind of poor design requires that kind of operational precision?
4) After one month the center metal grid snapped in half while cleaning (using light pressure - honest folks!) Vendor replaced the item without question.
5) After about 10 months the electronic control panel would intermittently not work when trying to operate the main oven. The temperature could be set, but after pressing the start touchpad the temperature would reset and not turn on the oven.
I called Electrolux/Frigidaire directly and due to the long record of repairs and reported problems, and since the problems could not be fixed, they replaced the entire unit without argument. The new unit arrived in about a week and was installed by the original vendor. After one use (10 minutes of boiling eggs) all of the ignitors went out. We have been lighting the range burners with matches for a week while waiting for the repair parts.
Pros:
1) Cool, very high tech electronic touch pad control panel.
2) Attractive appearance - clever, graduated power up oven lights.
3) Very smooth gliding racks in the main oven.
4) Good self-cleaning performance.
5) Small lower oven has limited use due to size but is very convenient to have for small items and warming.
6) Efficient heating by all four gas burners. Good variation of sizes and BTU outputs.
Cons:
1) Unreliable - Doesn't work well (a pretty big con.)
2) The main oven is relatively small in capacity and shallow front to back - a large pizza won't fit unless the edge is folded up against the front door or rear of the oven. We had to remove all racks but one and set it on the lowest guiderail to accomodate a moderate sized turkey.
3) The lower over is very small (height-wise)...can't put a casserole with a lid on it in the oven.
4) Stainless surfaces scratch very easily, even with careful cleaning. A single grain of salt scratched the SS surface of the cooktop the first time we cleaned it. We have since learned to carefully daub all "specks" off of the cook top before wiping it clean.
5) The oven racks are difficult to remove and replace to adjust baking levels. All racks but the center rack must be removed if using the convection setting to allow for "proper circulation of heated air" (per owner's manual.)
6) The oven fan runs for over two hours after the unit is turned off - a cool down feature I suppose. (This may be a "pro" for some people but is annoying.)
7) The exhaust from the oven vents out the FRONT of the unit instead of the rear or rear/top which would take advantage of the overhead exhaust fan. Uncomfortable when cooking and baking at the same time and really fills the kitchen with acrid smelling fumes during the self cleaning cycle.
8) Slooooow to pre-heat.
We may just have been unlucky and received two "lemons", but with so many good alternatives on the market in this price range I would recommend looking to another manufacturer for a dual fuel slide in unit. If another breakdown occurs within the next few months we will get rid of this range at a loss and buy from another company. However,if we experience no problems I will return and edit this rating up to "three stars".

I have had my stove for about 2 years and I just think it is great. Not real sure what the other 2 people are having problems with. I will say it does tend to run high when something starts to boil I have to turn it down to med to keep it from over boiling. Sense I have used gas in the past I am use to the high heat. Everything else is pretty much good. I do wish the burners were a little more close to the same size. It seems I am always using the same burner because of size.
Also I paid $900.00 not $1500.00 so that makes it a plus and I bought it brand new.

After owning this for about a year, this range has gotten stuck numerous times. It has a sensors on glass tops and will shutdown or go into confusing states if some water goes on top of the keypad ... Even after drying the surface and following their suggested "reboot" of the system by unplugging the error still persists.
Good luck if you try to contact Electrolux customer service... Today I tried contacting them to have their phone system AND email system have technical difficulties... too much of a coincidence i guess...UPDATE: Finally after four tries I got through to a nice gentleman who said it was turned into Sabbath mode (?)
This range has a lot of great features and is beautiful which was why we bought it but the problems with the usability has been confusing. Simply put, select a range that cannot crash on you if you want a hassle-free experience... there are many others with similar features that are much more reliable.
Now I know how cooking with MS Windows feels like....

Electrolux : EW30EF65GS 30 Electric Range Stainless Steel Review

Electrolux : EW30EF65GS 30 Electric Range Stainless Steel
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I managed to find this stove at a severe discount and jumped at the chance to own it. Plus we needed to replace an older stove in the house we just bought that didn't match our other appliances. It was also a glass cooktop stove so we had something to directly compare it to.
In any event, it's a joy to use, and the controls are quite simple. I really like the backlit electronic readout as it makes seeing what's happening very simple -- only the burner which is on is lit, or only the function which is working in the oven is lit. Quite handy, and the blue LED clock looks very classy. Also, the burner displays are great since the temperature/power is represented by a blue dotted line which goes in a circle -- the more blue dots, the higher the setting. No more numbers or Lo/Med/High! The burners get hot very quickly, and the various sizes make it easy to match your pot or pan with the proper size to avoid wasting heat.
The oven door is great -- very high quality. The lights inside are also amazing, extremely bright and the best lights I've ever seen inside a range anywhere. The "luxury glide" rack is also very nice and works very smoothly exactly as they advertise. One caveat...our luxury glide rack had some plastic on it (some sort of protective coating) that may have been left there by the guys who installed the range. When we used the oven the first couple of times, the plastic burned and started smoking, necessitating a cleaning. Check yours before you use it. Apart from that, the cooking has been efficient and even, and we really like the lack of an exposed heating element on the bottom, which will make cleaning up spills MUCH easier. We haven't used the warming drawer yet, nor have we tried the convection aspect.
The only downside we've found is that the glass surface seems to scratch quite easily. We had one non-stick pan with a slightly textured bottom that we had used with the previous range (GE Spectra) without any problem. With the first use on the Electrolux, we had a couple small scratches in the glass which was disappointing. However, the instructions do tell you to only use flat-bottomed pots and pans. That being said, the GE Spectra wasn't affected, and I would have thought the Electrolux would at least be as durable. In any event, we gave away that pan and haven't had any problems with our other pots and pans (mostly All-Clad and Calphalon), and the Electrolux beats the GE Spectra in every other regard without question. Just a small word of warning. This is the reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 stars. I wish I could have given it 4.5, actually, because it really is a fairly minor consideration compared to the overall quality.
Bottomline is that we're very pleased with our new addition. It looks great and works great, too. The only problem is that it looks so nice that it makes our cheap microwave look just that -- cheap! We may have to upgrade the microwave to match the sleek lines of the range.
