(More customer reviews)Dimplex CFP3652C 20"Cherry Electric Fireplace looks awesome. The flame is way to dark and there is no controls to make it brighter. The heat it puts out is ok for a small space. Thats all it really is, is a space heater in a fireplace cabinet. The other problem with the Fireplace is it is noisy and can get on ones nerves. The motor in the back makes all kinds of noise after about the 2nd week of use. For the price i paid for this i could have gotten a pellet stove and been much happier. It cost about $40 a mouth to run and that is not savings when you can get a pellet stove for around the same price and save a ton of money and have a real fire place at the same time. Again its nice just priced way to high.

(More customer reviews)It is beautiful and feels like real brick, as well as looks like real brick but it does need a hearth under it so that the heat can generate higher and it will look really real. It was delivered undamaged except for a ring mark on the granite mantel which looks like someone put a cup or glass on. I haven't tried to get it out but I am sure it will buff out. I love it regardless of the little things I want to do with it.

(More customer reviews)I bought two of these and spent almost $700 and I am VERY DISSAPOINTED with their performance. You can't even feel the heat unless you are about a foot away from the unit. I live in California where it doesn't really get that cold in the winter but I was interested in saving money on my heating bill and this thing won't even heat my bedroom. The mantle is oak plywood, not solid oak as advertised. The only good thing about them is that they look nice. The Amish are being used as a marketing tool to sell these fireplaces. All of the parts come from China and are assembled by Amish in Ohio, so don't expect good Amish craftsmanship because you won't get it with a Heat Surge Electric Fireplace.

The glass front is thick and smooth and you don't need to worry about cracking it. The blue backlit display turns off after a few seconds which is nice. Great remote that supports all functions. There are a few annoyances that were weighing too heavily for us and made me return it, though: First, since the unit is only a few inches deep and it is either wall-mounted or on the stand there is no easy way to hide the cord, which really spoils the appearance. The fan is a little noisy and keeps on running even when the heat is turned off, probably to cool the two lamps and to generate the light effect. The "crackling wood" sound effect sounds hollow and thin but can thankfully be turned off. Finally, the light effect is not realistic at all, just a waving background.
If you don't mind these annoyances, it is a good product.

(More customer reviews)I got the Heat Surge today. I like the fact that this heater has a vent that blows out hot air rather than one that radiates it. The vent blows similar to the amount that a heating register would in your wall. You will not feel it if you aren't close to the unit. However, If you are standing in front of the unit it is very hot. The vent that the heat comes out of gets very hot to the touch. If a child were to walk up and touch it they could be burned. Much like any space heater make sure children and pets are watched around it. Another thing I found was that the unit is very front heavy. If it is sitting on a medium shag carpet it could tip over very easily. It is stated in the manual that if the unit tips over it will shut off automatically. A small child or pet could easily knock it over though.
I did find that over the hours I ran it, the temperature of the room was nice. It is also very quiet. I would say for the money you really are paying for a nicer look than a typical space heater and will probably work just as good. I also like that it has a remote control and it can be easily moved from room to room.
UPDATE: This winter my furnace's blower motor went bad. I was without heat for 4 days. I am so happy I had the Heat Surge. I don't know what I would have done in the dead of winter without it.

(More customer reviews)This electric fireplace/heater was great until it completely fell apart under its own heat. It lasted about 2 or 3 weeks and then I noticed something looked wrong. I opened the door to investigate and the back plate had fallen forward. When I opened the door, the door is connected to a side plate and the whole thing just came off. When I looked at what had happened, I realized that underneath the exterior which is made to look like metal there is this stuff that looks like recycled cardboard. The heat just broke it down. And it just tore loose. When I tried to turn it over to find the serial number which the seller had requested, the fake logs that were on the bottom fell out. The whole thing just seemed to disintegrate from its own heat. The seller was decent and gave a refund and they will make the effort themselves of dealing with the manufacturer who did not readily respond. I have been buying through Amazon for over a decade and have never had a bad experience before. I have never had to return anything before. This is a completely defective product. I would not have given it one star but that is the lowest rating allowable.

Dimplex CS3311 Compact Electric Stove Review

After a week of going back in forth between this size and the smaller one, and reading countless reviews I made my choice and selected this larger one and I am so happy that I did!! I ordered the stove on Tuesday morning and it arrived Wednesday afternoon, how is that for service? It looks great and it fits perfectly under our TV. We live in a drafty house built in 1936 and even though we live in central Texas, the winters at times can be quite cold. Having always had a fireplace as a fixture in childhood memories, and loving its warmth and glow, I was determined to find something that could fit our needs and this was it!
As soon as it arrived, I literally lifted it out of the box and plugged it in. The remote is simply an on/off remote, which can be manually customized on the back of the unit so it can turn on/off according to your preferences. (I wish the remote was able to control the heat.) There are three controls on the back, a knob to adjust the heat/temperature level, a three part switch to turn the unit off, on, and remote mode, and a third switch to turn heat on/off, (a winning feature). Just for kicks I decided to crank up the heat and in no time, hot/warm heat was coming out of the bottom. I like that it was almost radiating heat with a slight force; I don't like having heat blowing at me. This was putting out heat at the bottom and since heat rises it was no time before the room was toasty warm.
The stoves' overall appearance is very pleasing, it reminds me of what one might find in an old farm house, but please keep in mind it is on the smaller size; 20 in long, 23 in tall and 10 in deep. But if you have a smaller, draftier room, such as a den, this will work great. And keep in mind; it is super light so you can move it around the house depending on where you are. I can't wait to move it to the kitchen, for that nostalgic "fireplace in the kitchen" feeling!

(More customer reviews)We recently added a sunroom to our home and wanted to try and extend the time we could use it with a space heater. We wanted something that not only provided supplimental heat, but also added to rooms decor. This little electric stove was the perfect addition. Its compact size was perfect since the sunroom had large windows and very little wall space. At only about 2 feet high it fit perfectly. It throws off some heat as well, although I'm sure in the dead of winter here in Boston it may not provide enough to suppress the chill. The kids really love the flame effect that it provides. It looks fairly realistic, but is completely cool to the touch, other than the small blower box on the bottom, so there is no issue with small children playing around it. You can definitely find less expensive ways to provide some heat to a cool room, but if you want something that looks nice and gives off some heat this item is for you.
