Medium Glass Teapot, Glass Infuser Review

(More customer reviews)Very delicate and very small (takes just under 3 cups of water). It works, however, it isn't described correctly in the listing.
This isn't what I would call a "regular" teapot where one would boil water with a separate kettle and then pour it over the tea in the pot. That's what I thought I was getting. Instead, this teapot is designed for STOVETOP USE! Instructions state to NOT fill with hot/boiling water, or it will crack, and had I not had the foresight to read the instructions, I might have broken it. Instead, you need to put your dry tea in the infuser, fill the teapot with water, and bring to a simmer with a low flame. Watch it, too, or it will boil over quickly. Also, the infuser and lid rattle around a bit--not a great fit, but good enough, I suppose.
That all said, I like it. Not thrilled, and certainly not worth the $18 I paid for it, but I'll be using it daily. It's pretty neat to watch the bitty streams of "good stuff" from my herbs seep through the infuser's slits.

Teapot body is 7cm in height with a diameter of 13cm. With the lid, the height is 11cm in total. (2.8ins in height and 5.1ins in diameter) Capacity is 17oz. Slots in the glass infuser allow the full flavor of the leaves to seep into the water without getting tea leaves into your drink. When using the infuser, use only enough leaves for two persons (approx 2 tablespoons) which will also allow enough room for the leaves to move around and quickly brew your tea. Glass is heat resistant and can be microwaved, but do not expose to direct heat and do not use in a normal oven. Since this is fine, thin glassware, automatic dish-washing is not recommended, hand wash with dish detergent. Although heat resistant, the glass is not shatter proof so take care when handling. (More customer reviews)Purchased this kettle in December. Have purchased a couple of kettles in the last year--only to return them for lack of quality or imperfections. I ordered this one and it has been a great buy!! I've used it daily--several times a day. It is heavy enough (copper bottom is very nice--quick heat) but not too heavy (have arthritis).
Also, like that the handle is attatched on both sides so that as you pour it's well balanced. (Note the handle is fixed in place) Handle stays cool.
Just so you know--it does not whistle (not a problem for me) and may/will "spit" if you let the water get to a "HARD BOIL" and then immediately pour it--but just pay attention and if it is boiling hard, then let it rest a minute or two BEFORE you pour. Be vigilant and only fill to marked place (just below bottom of spout). It holds plenty of water---
To sum it up, imho, so far no cons. Sturdy, very pretty, well weighted, large opening so easy to clean, copper bottom heats quickly and evenly without any "ticking" noises on cheaper kettles(have a gas stove). Hope to have this kettle many years! This kettle was kind of expensive--I found it on sale--but after shopping so much, I would choose this one again! :)

Everywhere I looked (Wal-Mart, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond), each drip pan was at least $7. These were a great buy for the price, even with shipping. Same quality as the higher priced pans. We also purchased an 8" from the same seller, and they were the first items I received amidst my Amazon order of over 10 items - super fast shipping. Very happy with my purchase and with this seller.

This misleading photograph advertising the "Indigo" tea kettle shows the kettle partially filled with a blue liquid that matches the tiny circle of blue on the lid. The blue on the lid is the ONLY thing indigo on this Indigo Tea Kettle. FYI: this is a CLEAR glass tea kettle with a blue knob on the lid. Works fine, though.

(More customer reviews)My wife used this product one time and declared that she hated it and would neve use it again. I had to try it for myself to see if she was exaggering. She wasn't.
I sprayed it on a cooktop after making some crabcakes with the resulting splattering of oil. I sprayed on the product as directed. It comes out in a streamy glob, not a nice symmetrical spray, so it's hard to control.

Next I wiped with a wet sponge as directed,followed by a wipe with a dry towel. The results were catastrophic. Our cooktop had never looked worse, covered with smears and blotches.
Luckily we had our old standby, Weiman CookTop Cleaner, in the wings. A few swipes of the Weiman and the cooktop looked great.
Our almost full container of Easy-Off is going in the trashcan where it belongs.

(More customer reviews)The "new" appliance I received was covered in scratches and scrapes though the burners looked untouched. The double burner was slow to heat up but I let it take its time. After half an hour, it still wasn't hot enough to brown my ground beef in the slightest, though the metal around the burners was extraordinarily hot. Not only was it scratched and ugly but it was completely useless.
To top it all off, the seller (CSB Commodities, ANTOnline) has absolutely absurd return policies so I'm stuck with this piece of crap.

I ordered it anyway thinking it was a typographical error - the pictures and text do not agree on the Target website either. The drip pans arrived within a few days -very expedient! However, the package insert says one 8" pan and three 6" pans but the package actually contains two of each. What am I to do? Return it and intentionally order the wrong product in the hopes of getting the correct product? No. I salvaged one of my old drip pans instead and now have an extra 8" pan.

(More customer reviews)I was watching Rick Bayless' "Mexico, One Plate At a Time" and saw him using something like this so I tracked it down on Amazon. What a great idea -- the removable pot is made of cast aluminum and can go onto a stove top. I can saute vegetables, brown a roast and then lift the pot (using oven mitts) into the slow cooker to finish while I'm at work.
The aluminum pot's walls and bottom are about half an inch think and distribute heat evenly. I expected to find hot spots because it's oblong and my burners are round. That wasn't a problem. I've simmered marinara sauce directly on the stove top and haven't noticed any difference in temperature between the center of the pot and either end. I've also used it on the stove top to cook lasagna noodles. It's large enough to roast a whole chicken.
Sometimes slow cookers finish their cycles with everything done well, but with too much liquid left in the pot. With this one, I can just set the pot on a burner and quickly thicken the sauce.
I'm impressed.

busy smoking a 9 pound Texas brisket. I followed directions and use hickory dust. It was rubbed with Pappy's rub. I smoked it for
one and a half hours and then, without switching pans but removing the lid, I roasted it for another three hours at 275 degrees. It turned out to be the brisket I remembered my mother making when I was a child except it was even better and had that smokey flavor.
Since, I have smoked whole chicken, whole trout, Alaskan cod and sturgeon. What a treat! It lets out small wisks of smoke, just enough to give my apartment a wonderful scent. If you follow directions, you will not be disappointed.
